CHESS this Sunday, April 2nd at Starbucks!

Hello!

We meet every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:00pm through to closing time at our usual Starbucks venue, and last Wednesday's session drew at least 24 players, including half a dozen players new to the club!

There to have fun with chess over the boards and to make new friends were Mike S., Steve, Vernon, Zachary and Sammy with parents Zhaana and Baha, Mike T., Yancy (who solve the chess puzzle of the day), Red, Duncan, Sam C., Sam S., Matthew, Bert, John S., Trenton, Diego, welcoming new players Ethan and his Dad Sonny, along with Zooey and Robent, and mom Meredith and her daughter Charlie with those yummy girl scout cookies somehow sold to some of the chess players!

We meet again this Sunday, April 2, 2023, same place, same time -- and players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to masters, are welcome to come and go anytime, and there are no dues, nor is there any purchase required (but it would be nice). Players there early usually have a chance to be the first to solve a chess puzzle on the first try to win a free tall Starbucks drink!

Our Next Club Tournament:

On the afternoon of Sunday, April 23, 2023 we will start a 4-round USCF-rated tournament that will have all participants playing 2 matches that Sunday afternoon, and the next two on either the following Wednesday and/or Sunday depending on the schedules or availability of the players. We've done this before, it's not complicated at all.
