More CHESS this Wednesday Jan. 18th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone . . .!
This Wednesday evening, at Starbucks located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., Clayton, Calif., from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Come by anytime - there's more chess over the boards, and lots of going over some of this past weekend's 8th Annual Golden State Open's highlights from players who were there!

Yes, we can have fun and rejoice over the winning moves, or the blunders and blown games, even the lucky draws, and some of the tough games, won, lost, or drawn.  And there were old acquaintances and friendships renewed, and new ones made.  Or, whether you played in the tournament or not, we can just get into some good old club matches, as usual!

There's lots of fun, challenging chess over the boards again at our usual Wednesday evening venue, Starbucks, located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., Clayton, Calif., from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  Come by anytime, the earlier the better for the best tables, more games, and some really nice company!

Last week's session saw another fun chess crowd, featuring the return of Dmitri and Liliana and Kitty along with Bob C., Priya, Jonathan, Tony T., Chris B., Chris Th., Mike T., Rich K., and even a couple of young kids tried their hand at the grand old game.  A memorable highlight of the evening came around closing time, with Tony T. winning a game against chess master Rich K., with a position that was checkmate in two moves!!  Of course, Tony will be subject to an interview and possible replay of the game, with Rich possibly explaining how the heck his king got trapped!
