CHESS this Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Starbucks!

Hello Everyone...!

We meet every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon at our regular Starbucks venue at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center, from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time. Our next session is this Wednesday, April 16th, and as usual all ages and skill levels are welcome to enjoy the company, make new friends, and perhaps renew old friendships while enjoying the fun and challenge of chess over the boards!

Last Sunday's session saw well more than a dozen players come by for their chess fix! We welcomed two players new to the club, Nathan and Andrew. We also welcomed back, after a long absence, Ryan and Anh. Enjoying the game of chess with them were Ben, David T., Raj, Benoit, Reza, Irakli, Red, Logan, Mike T., Alex S., and Max. Did I miss anyone?

CHESS this Sat. 04/12 & Sun. 04/13/25 at Different Starbucks Coffee Shops!

Hi Everyone!

This Saturday, April 12, 2025: At the Starbucks located at 1900 Contra Costa Blvd. in Pleasant Hill, from 2:00 p.m. on through closing time. All ages and skill levels welcome, no dues,come and go anytime for the fun and challenge of chess over the boards, and perhaps other kinds of board games, or even card games, that you would like to bring...!

This Sunday, April 13, 2025: At our regular Starbucks located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center, from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time, for chess over the boards, with players of all ages and skill levels welcome to come and go anytime! Our Sunday sessions draw the most players, so you may want to come early! There are no dues, play other games too, if you like! There usually is a chess puzzle to solve, and the first player to solve it on the first try wins a free tall Starbucks drink of choice!

We meet at our regular Starbucks in the Clayton Shopping Center every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon, same time, etc. as above. Last Wednesday's session saw well over a dozen players enjoy chess over the boards!

CHESS this Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

We meet every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time at our usual Starbucks venue located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center. Our next session is this Wednesday, April 9, 2025 and, as usual, all ages and skill levels are welcome, from beginners to masters!. There are no dues, and players can come and go anytime. There usually is a chess puzzle to solve, and the first player to solve it on his or her first try wins a free tall Starbucks drink of choice!

Last Sunday's session saw players welcome Jessika and her Dad John to the club. Among players there to welcome them were Arun and Arian; Ben, Benoit, David T.,Tony, Matt S., Matt R., Mike T., Reza, Lou, Red, Will, Adam MacD, among perhaps a few more there to have fun with the challenge of chess and to make new friends, and renew old friendships! Mark even dropped by later with Bo the Doggy!

We now also have Saturday sessions at the Starbucks located at 1900 Contra Costa Blvd. in Pleasant Hill. Players are there from 2:00 p.m. through to closing time, and don't be surprised if games other than chess are on the tables there!

See you soon, and we may have a USCF- rated club tournament in May, so stay tuned!

CHESS this Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

Just a short message to confirm there's lots of chess over the boards this week at our regular Starbucks venue this Wednesday (today) April 2nd, in the Clayton Shopping Center, from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time; and, likewise this coming Sunday, April 6, 2025. We've had very good turnouts for the fun and challenge of chess despite the chill and rainy weather patterns, so expect even more players as the weather warms up!

Additionally, there's chess and other games to play this Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 2:00 through to closing time, at the Starbucks located at 1900 Contra Costa Blvd., which is also in a shopping center that has a Safeway, in Pleasant Hill. Last Saturday saw several chess players come by, including Meredith, who taught some players a new card game called "Sushi Go!".

We'll see you there, and don't be surprised when you make new friends, and perhaps even renew old friendships!
