CHESS this Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

It's Daylight Savings Time Chess over the boards this Sunday, March 10th at our usual Starbucks venue, located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center! Lots of players (two dozen or more) of all ages and skill levels have been joining the fun and challenge of the game these past few Sundays, with several staying through closing time! We start at 3:00 p.m., players come and go anytime, there are no dues, and there's no purchase required (but it would be nice). There usually is a chess puzzle to solve, and the first to solve it on the first try wins a free tall Starbucks beverage of choice!

We also meet on Wednesday afternoons, same time, same place, and this past Wednesday saw at least eleven players enjoy the game, with FBen the player who rather quickly solved the chess puzzle of the day on his first try! There with Fben were Ben C., Mike T., Tony, Trucker, Evan, Daniel C., a new player named Alex, Evan, Mark, and Matthew, whose spiffy countermove in one game late in the day wrecked Mark's crafty endgame stratagem!
